Only this week there has been a classic example on each of the flagship 8pm slots.Monday: a special on the Turin Shroud ‘which is the sheet in which was wrapped the body of Christ’ – so no room for doubters there.Tuesday: the banking crisis – and HSBC is officially a Swiss bank because it has a branch in GenevaWednesday: the case of Eliza Claps, where the number 1 suspect – but only a suspect – was referred to as being ‘the last person to see Elisa Clapps alive’. To follow Morse’s logic, the last person to see a murder victim alive is the murderer. So much for innocent until proven guilty.
