So, Mr Toad is to pull the plug on Monti and insist on an election day on Feb 11th apparently. The reason behind this is – choose one –
a) that having regional and national elections at the same will save the electorate 100 million euros
b) that having elections on the same day will minimise the appalling losses that the PDL face
c) that if he a candidate for PM and in the middle of an election campaign, the undoubted guilty verdict of the Ruby trial will have to be postponed allowing him to continue in politics until his saggy old arse drops lifeless to the floor.
And you wonder why the Italians are bitter?
